Como cada año, en los meses de noviembre y diciembre aparecen publicados los comics con fecha de portada del mes de enero del año siguiente. Este comienzo de año 2010 viene marcado por la saga titulada "Superman: The World of New Krypton" que es una consecuencia que llega desde el año 2008, es decir, desde la saga del regreso de Brainiac que termina con el salvamento por parte de Superman de la ciudad de Kandor, que como todos sabemos estaba miniaturizada y encerrada dentro de una botella. Sin embargo, el hecho de reataurar el tamaño de la ciudad y liberar a sus habitantes, ha puesto a Superman en un gran aprieto, la presencia de 100.000 kryptonianos con sus mismos poderes en la faz del planeta Tierra.
Sin embargo, esto terminó y la saga se siguió desarrollando con nuevos derroteros y nuevos desafíos para Superman y su familia Kryptoniana quedando totalmente implicados su prima y sobre todo su tía Alura, madre de Supergirl y Líder de New Krypton. Todo el año anterior se ha caracterizado en las dos colecciones principales de Superman, es decir en ACTION COMICS y SUPERMAN por la desaparición del personaje que se halla en el espacio en estas colecciones y que todo apunta a algo que la DC utiliza continuamente para celebrar algún evento, como por ejemplo que la colección SUPERMAN alcande el número 700 o quizás sea su siguiente aniversario, lo que sea, poder celebrarlo con el regreso de Superman.
También nos hallamos en medio de la miniserie de seis ejemplares "Superman Secret Origins" en la que se nos vuelve a recontar por enésima vez el origen de Superman, esta vez con guión de Geoff Johns y dibujos de Gary Frank y Jon Sibal con una marcada incluencia del Superman de Richard Donner interpretado por Christopher Reeve, con algún elemento de Smallville y no dejando de lado la presencia del clásico Superboy y sus amigos la Legión de Superhéroes, con ánimo de captar el mayor número posible de nuevos lectores y que continúen hasta los más antiguos.
